  • Bruce Henry

    An internationally known Black vocalist, composer, storyteller, recording artist and educator. The Evolution of African-American Music is a major body of work he has created tracing the survival of African culture in America from 1619 all the way to the modern forms of rock, gospel, R&B, soul, jazz and hip-hop. It is presented as an “informance” which traces the story through the actual performance of the music through every point in the timeline by Bruce and his top-level band.

  • Courtland Pickens

    Courtland Pickens is a premiere vocalist, based in Minneapolis, MN. Currently, he is the Worship Director for Epiphany Covenant Church as well as Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. He is also founder of KNOWN Mpls — An audition-based, Twin Cities community youth choir striving to train and develop the next generation of singers and composers throughout the Twin Cities Area.​ Since its inception in late 2019, Known has shared the stage with prominent artists including Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker & Israel Houghton on the Festival of Praise Tour, and Shane & Shane for a National Live TV Broadcast, and recorded music with Kaycyy Pluto, Darnell Davis & Maya Buckner.

  • T Mychael Rambo

    An iconic figure in the Twin Cities arts and activism scene. He is a Regional Emmy Award-winning actor, vocalist, arts educator and community organizer who has made an indelible mark in the Twin Cities, performing at The Guthrie, The Penumbra, The Ordway, The Minnesota Opera, the Dakota and Crooners.

  • Dr. David Wright

    One of the most prominent figures in the world of barbershop signing. He is the top musical arranger and historian emeritus of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and a leading scholar on the African-American roots of Barbershop.

  • Maureen “Mo” Field — Artist in Residence

    Great Northern Union's former Artistic and Musical Director, the wonderfully talented Mo Field, serves as Artist In Residence for Roots Re-Visioned.

    A former director of the internationally acclaimed Stockholm City Voices, a 42-voice women's a cappella ensemble, from Stockholm, Sweden, Mo brings to the GNU a wealth of experience as a choral director and music educator. She is an accomplished musician and a sought-after vocal performance coach, arranger, workshop facilitator, life coach and mentor.

    Mo is certified as a Performance Judge for the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a frequent lecturer/faculty member at BHS’s Harmony University.
